I, too, have found comfort in Marc’s and Angel’s posts. At 72 years old, I am beginning on a new spiritual path, and find their words of wisdom inspirational.

Read this latest post early in the morning here in my little place down in Costa Rica. I sold a huge home on a lake up in Alabama, leaving boats, vehicles, lots of material things behind. There are many challenges starting a new life here in my sunset years, and after losing a loving wife to cancer some years back. Your articles help me know I can still have positive experiences and friendships even at this stage in my life. For now I am very lonely for a close relationship, but maybe with God’s help, that can change. Keep up your good thoughts and writings.

I came across you a couple of months ago. I’m glad I did. I’m one who tends to make excuses, so that point resonates in a big way. Last Sunday our pastor shared this quote, “Excuses make sure your life is the same as it was yesterday.” And I don’t want to live my life based on continual excuses. It’s a recipe for a very bad “Groundhog Day” scenario!!!

Hi Marc and Angel,

I’ve been a follower for more than a decade now. I was still in college when I first learned about your website (it was only just starting then), and now I am a 30-something single mom of 2. I’ve been a ‘silent’ follower, never commenting on your posts but today felt like I should.

If I may just say: Marc (and Angel too), the growth in life that you show through your writings has been exponential. More grounded than ever and immensely powerful. I was blown away by this post. Especially #6.

I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you, thank you, thank you for doing what you do. For never giving up on the website.

Many times over the years I have used your website as a guide traversing life, as an anchor to hold on to when I felt lost and lonely (I still love and hold on to Jesus, but I was praying for guidance and it let me to your posts mostly), and lastly as a friend who shares the same ideals, values and who truly understand that the life lessons above can only be learned through conquering afflictions.

I am struggling with so many things and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel, but today I woke up with this post and read it and it made me remember all the things I’ve been through whilst relying on your posts for support. I was alone, but never felt lonely.

I am grateful that you and Angel have reached more people and have become life guides brimming with wisdom, compassion, strength and love.

Please continue doing what you do. You are helping far more than you know.

Love you guys. Thank you for the well wishes in every post, thank you for everything in this post. I love them.

Awesome wake-up calls. Sometimes hard to face the mistakes and regrets of the past. Lack of following my dreams, lack of following opportunities lay heavy on the mind. In my 7th decade of life it is even more apparent. It requires a different direction. I am more inclined to now stick with a compelling thought and not question it. Asking for guidance and help even from our inner self is better than trying to succeed on our own whims. I think back on all the troubles and realize I always made out okay in the end. But had I been more focused things would have been even better. Time has a way of catching up with you. And things become not so important anymore, that helps with getting real. Each day I learn new things and that keeps me young at heart. A purpose in life gives one a reason to step forward, daily.

I particularly liked what you say about regret. I called it my eighth deadly sin. From my early twenties I was letting this awful habit eat me up and prevent me from seeing all the opportunities around me.

It took till mid life to do a lot of work on myself and slay this monster.

If I hadn’t done so I’d now be lost in a miserable retirement instead of the very enjoyable one I have.

Thanks for your excellent articles to help us all declutter our emotional lives.

This has to be one of the key-moments in my life, every word that I read from this article has just fuelled me with inspiration and motivation for the betterment of myself. As someone has already mentioned, all these things that you’ve talked about are the ones we already know but constantly fail to implement, but the way you put them out is something I really liked and the best lines that I loved are ” too often we overestimate the significance of one big defining moment and underestimate the value of making a little bit of progress every single day…” this literally takes a lot of burden off ourselves and remind us to value and put emphasis on every moment in your life. All you need is a better version of yourself.
